Mary Passaro DVM

Hi, I’m Dr. Mary Passaro, a Hudson Valley veterinarian with more than 15 years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I’ve worked in both emergency and general veterinary practice, which has given me a deep understanding of animals through every stage of life — from their first visits to their final moments. Over the years, I’ve learned that one of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping families say goodbye to their beloved pets with peace, compassion, and dignity.

For many years, I commuted to Virginia to work at a clinic I loved. It was fulfilling and fast-paced, but I always felt a pull to serve closer to home. After moving to the Hudson Valley, I realized that families here also needed compassionate, experienced support when facing end-of-life decisions for their pets. That realization inspired me to create Tri-State Veterinary Services, where I now provide in-home pet euthanasia for dogs and cats throughout the region.

I believe that every pet deserves a peaceful, gentle passing surrounded by the people who love them most. Saying goodbye at home allows families to create a calm, familiar environment where their pets can rest comfortably, free from stress or fear. Whether it’s a favorite blanket, a special toy, or a sunbeam by the window, being at home makes a difference. It’s an honor to help make that moment as loving and respectful as possible.

In addition to offering in-home euthanasia, I continue to work in local animal hospitals through veterinary relief services. This allows me to stay connected with the broader veterinary community and provide support where it’s most needed. I understand how demanding veterinary medicine can be, and I value being able to help clinics and their teams continue to deliver excellent care.

I grew up in northern New Jersey and have proudly called the Hudson Valley home for several years. My husband and I live here with our sweet dog, Emi. We love exploring everything this beautiful region has to offer — hiking local trails, visiting waterfalls, and taking in the peace of nature. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me outside, practicing yoga, or enjoying time with family and friends.

My goal as a veterinarian is simple: to bring comfort, understanding, and compassion to pets and their families during life’s most difficult times. I understand how painful it is to lose a beloved companion, and I’m committed to walking families through that process with care and empathy. Every visit is personal. Every goodbye matters.

If you’re considering in-home euthanasia in the Hudson Valley, I encourage you to reach out. Together, we can ensure your pet’s final moments are filled with love, peace, and dignity.
